# Deezer

Application: Deezer

Also called deezer desktop

Deezer, System

A French streaming service with a Windows desktop app. The process is Deezer.exe. It is not Spotify.

## What you need to know

Deezer is a French catalog client. Spotify is a different locker.

Deezer.exe signs in to Deezer. Flow is Deezer’s mix. The website works without a resident exe.

- **What is it?**: French streaming service with a Windows app

**Same as Spotify?**: No. Different account and Flow mix

**Need the app?**: The site also plays

Feex says

If the family already pays Deezer, I would install this client. I would not migrate playlists to Spotify unless they asked, and I would not call Flow Discover Weekly.

## What is Deezer?

Deezer’s Windows app is the official desktop player. Deezer.exe streams the catalog tied to your Deezer plan.

## If you have never used it

If your playlists live on Deezer, this is the official Windows app. Download it from deezer.com/download. Sign in with the Deezer account. Flow is Deezer’s radio-style mix, not Spotify’s Discover Weekly. The website also plays if you do not want Deezer.exe.

## What is it used for?

**Deezer catalog and Flow**

Play playlists and Flow. Spotify cannot see that locker. Flow is a Deezer feature name.

**Offline on a plan**

Download albums the client allows. They stay inside Deezer, not a foobar2000 folder.

**Desktop tray**

Media keys and a resident window. The site covers casual listening without Deezer.exe.

## Who is it for?

- People who already pay for Deezer, especially in Europe
- Users who want Flow instead of a Spotify mix
- Anyone who should ignore “Deezer premium unlocked” installers

## Current status

Deezer (2007) is a current music streaming from Deezer. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.deezer.com/download.

## How old is it?

Deezer launched in France in 2007, a year before Spotify’s public service. The Windows desktop app is the optional tray client. A 2010 “Deezer only works in-browser in some countries” memory is outdated in regions Deezer now supports.

A Deezer setting. Do not disable Windows Audio.

## Alternatives

Spotify or Apple Music if that is the catalog you already pay for. The Deezer website if you do not want a tray app.
