# Logitech G HUB

Application: Logitech

Also called g hub, logitech g hub, lghub

Logitech, Drivers

Logitech's RGB, mouse, and profile host for G gaming hardware. The process is lghub.exe. It is not Logi Options+.

## What you need to know

G HUB is for Logitech G hardware. Options+ is the MX app.

lghub.exe hosts lighting, dpi profiles, and macros for Logitech G mice, keyboards, and headsets. Logi Options+ is the separate app for MX and similar productivity devices.

- **What is it?**: Profiles and RGB for Logitech G gear

**Same as Options+?**: No. Options+ is the MX and business app

**Needed for a G mouse?**: For onboard profiles and RGB, usually yes

Feex says

If a G502 or G Pro will not keep its dpi profile, I open G HUB, not Options+. Those are two Logitech apps with two jobs.

## What is Logitech G HUB?

Logitech G HUB is the Windows host for Logitech G gaming mice, keyboards, headsets, and lights. It stores profiles, RGB, and some onboard memory. It does not replace Logi Options+ for MX keyboards and mice.

## If you have never used it

If the box said Logitech G, this is the app that owns dpi, RGB, and game profiles. Install it from logitechg.com. Logi Options+ is the other Logitech app, for MX and similar office gear. Running both is common on a mixed desk. They do not manage the same devices.

## What is it used for?

**Mouse and keyboard profiles**

dpi steps, assignments, and per-game profiles for G hardware. Options+ assignments will not appear here.

**RGB lighting**

G LIGHTSYNC effects. OpenRGB can fight this host if both claim the same device.

**Headset and blue voice extras**

Some G headsets expose EQ and mic features only in G HUB.

## Who is it for?

- People with Logitech G mice, keyboards, or headsets
- Players who want onboard or per-game profiles
- Desks that also run Options+ for a separate MX device

## Current status

Actively developed. Logitech still uses G HUB for the G line. LGS (Gaming Software) is the older host.

## How old is it?

Logitech Gaming Software was the 2010s host. G HUB replaced it for current G devices starting in 2019. An LGS-only mouse may still need the old app. That is not Options+.

## Versions

## System requirements

Values follow the publisher's public guidance. Workload still changes the real need.

### Minimum

| Hardware | A supported Logitech G device. MX and Options-class devices belong in Options+ |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Operating system | A current supported Windows 10 or Windows 11 release, per Logitech |

## Resource profile

- **CPU demand**: Low to moderate. RGB preview and the Electron-style UI add some RAM

**RAM demand**: Higher than a tiny tray utility. lghub_agent can stay resident

## Installed processes

These executables belong to this product when it is installed.

| lghub.exe | Main window |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| lghub_agent.exe | Device agent that can stay in the tray |
| lghub_updater.exe | Updater |

## Startup components

G HUB usually installs a startup agent so profiles load before a game. Turn that off in G HUB settings if you want a manual start.

## File locations

| Typical install | C:\Program Files\LGHUB\\ |
| --------------- | ------------------------ |

## Common problems

### Opened Options+ for a G mouse

Options+ will not own a G Pro or G502 the way G HUB does. Wrong Logitech app.

### RGB or dpi reset after reboot

The agent did not start, or onboard memory was not written. Check G HUB startup and onboard memory mode.

## Getting unstuck

### Install from logitechg.com, not a "lghub setup" ad

The real client lives under Program Files\LGHUB. A G HUB exe on the Desktop from a forum is the wrong file.

### Quit lghub_agent from the tray, then relaunch G HUB

The window can look fine while the agent has lost the device. That is a G HUB restart, not a Windows reinstall.

### Do not use Options+ as the G-device fixer

If the device is a G product, stay in G HUB. Options+ is the MX sibling.

## Alternatives

Logi Options+ covers MX and similar. Razer Synapse and iCUE are other vendor hosts. OpenRGB can light some G devices if you stop G HUB first.
