Viber (2010) is a current chat from Rakuten Viber. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.viber.com/download/.

Viber launched in 2010 and later became part of Rakuten. It is newer than Skype and about the same age as WhatsApp. The Windows desktop client is a companion, not a 1990s PC-only IM.

Closing the window can leave Viber.exe resident.

## Alternatives

WhatsApp or Signal if the group already moved. LINE or KakaoTalk if that is the regional default instead.
