Adobe Creative Cloud
Also called cc desktop, adobe cc, creative cloud desktop
Installer and license hub for Photoshop, Illustrator, and the rest of the suite. The process is Creative Cloud.exe. It is not Photoshop.
What you need to know
Creative Cloud is the hub. Photoshop is a different app.
Creative Cloud.exe installs and licenses the suite. Photoshop is a separate program. CS6 is not this product.

What is Adobe Creative Cloud?
Creative Cloud Desktop installs, updates, and licenses Adobe apps. Photoshop is a separate exe you launch from this hub or the Start menu.
If you have never used it
If you subscribe to Adobe apps, this is the desktop hub that installs Photoshop and friends and keeps licenses signed in. It is not Photoshop itself. Download the hub from adobe.com, not a "Photoshop portable" host.
What is it used for?
Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and the rest. The hub is not the editor.
Adobe ID and plan seats. A missing license is this hub, not a GPU driver.
Optional Adobe Fonts and cloud files the hub offers. You can ignore them and still run Photoshop.
Who is it for?
- People with an Adobe plan
- Anyone who searched "install Photoshop" and landed on the hub
- Users who still have a CS6 disk and should not use this article as that installer
Current status
Adobe Creative Cloud (2013) is a current suite installer and license hub from Adobe. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html.
How old is it?
Creative Suite boxes were the pre-2013 model. Creative Cloud (2013) is the subscription hub. CS6 is a different era and a different installer.

File locations
| Typical install | C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\ |
|---|
Common problems
Thought the hub was Photoshop
Open Photoshop from the hub or Start. Creative Cloud.exe is the installer and account window.
Apps show trial after a good sign-in
Fix the Adobe ID in the hub. That is licensing, not a broken PSD.
Getting unstuck
Install the hub from adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html
Then install Photoshop from the Apps list. Skip "CC crack" pages.
Sign out and back in before you reinstall Windows
License tokens live in the hub. A second Photoshop install will not fix a seated plan.
Use Adobe's Creative Cloud cleaner only when Adobe documents it
Manual Program Files deletes leave helpers. Follow helpx.adobe.com.
Alternatives
Affinity and Photopea overlap some photo work. They do not open a Creative Cloud seat you already pay for.
