CrystalDiskMark
Also called crystal disk mark, cdm, diskmark64
A disk speed bench from Crystal Dew World. The 64-bit process is DiskMark64.exe. It is not CrystalDiskInfo. Sequential numbers are not game FPS.
What you need to know
CrystalDiskMark benches speed. CrystalDiskInfo reads SMART.
Crystal Dew World's CrystalDiskMark measures disk throughput. Sequential MB/s are not game FPS. Get it from crystalmark.info. DiskInfo64.exe is the health app, not this bench.
- What is it?
- A disk speed bench
- Same as CrystalDiskInfo?
- No. Info is SMART health
- Are sequential numbers FPS?
- No. They are disk MB/s
What is CrystalDiskMark?
CrystalDiskMark fills a test file and times reads and writes. DiskMark64.exe is the bench. DiskInfo64.exe is the health sibling.
If you have never used it
If you want to measure disk speed, CrystalDiskMark is hiyohiyo's bench. Download it from crystalmark.info. Sequential and random rows are megabytes per second, not game FPS. It is not CrystalDiskInfo, which reads SMART health.
What is it used for?
The default profiles are disk benches. They are not a 3DMark FPS number and not a SMART health tile.
Run the same profile on both. CrystalDiskInfo will not give you these MB/s rows.
Default, Peak, Real World, and Mix change the test. Quoting SEQ1M without the profile is how forum fights start.
Who is it for?
- People who just installed an SSD and want a number
- Anyone who opened DiskMark when they meant DiskInfo
- Review readers who need to match a profile
Current status
CrystalDiskMark (2007) is a current disk benchmark from Crystal Dew World. The vendor still points Windows users at https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/.
How old is it?
CrystalDiskMark started in 2007. CrystalDiskInfo followed in 2008. Both remain Crystal Dew World apps. A screenshot of an old 50 MB/s HDD bench is history, not a broken NVMe.

System requirements
Values follow the publisher's public guidance. Workload still changes the real need.
Minimum
| Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, per Crystal Dew World's current DiskMark page |
|---|---|
| RAM | Enough for Windows plus this app. Heavy projects want more. |
Resource profile
- CPU demand
- Moderate during a run
- Disk demand
- High. It writes and reads a large test file

Common problems
Bench run on a dying drive
A low score can be health or a full disk. Check CrystalDiskInfo if SMART is the question. This exe does not replace it.
Antivirus or a full volume tanks the write test
The bench writes a real test file. Pause a real-time scan as a test, and leave free space.
Getting unstuck
Confirm you opened DiskMark64, not DiskInfo64
The health window has Good/Caution tiles. The bench has All and SEQ buttons. They are two Crystal Dew apps.
Pick the same profile as the review you are copying
Default versus Peak changes the number. That is CrystalDiskMark, not a GPU driver.
Do not treat SEQ1M as game smoothness
Games care about more than one sequential row. CrystalDiskInfo still will not give FPS either.
Alternatives
Manufacturer benches and FIO overlap. CrystalDiskInfo is the health sibling, not a substitute score.

Related hardware
The bench stresses the drive you pick. A USB enclosure can be the bottleneck. This is not a GPU test.
