GoToProductivity

A long-running business meeting client, formerly Citrix. On Windows a common process is g2m.exe.

GoTo Meeting is a long-running business client. It is not Zoom.

g2m.exe is the common Windows process. Zoom is a different vendor. Citrix is the old parent name, not a third-party crack.

Feex says
If g2m.exe is the meeting process, I would treat it as GoTo Meeting, not Zoom. Quitting Zoom.exe does not drop this call.

What is GoTo Meeting?

GoTo Meeting is GoTo's business meeting desktop client. Windows still shows g2m.exe on many installs.

If you have never used it

If a calendar invite says GoTo Meeting, this is GoTo (formerly Citrix), not Zoom. You can often join in a browser. The Windows app is for regular hosts and attendees. A common process is g2m.exe. Zoom.exe is a different vendor.

What is it used for?

Scheduled business meetings

The call window for a GoTo organizer. Zoom is a different meeting grid.

Screen share the host starts

GoTo screen share. Windows Game Bar is not this product.

Webinar-style sessions some plans include

GoTo documents webinar SKUs. That is still not Webex or Zoom.

Who is it for?

  • Workplaces that never left GoTo invites
  • Users who still say Citrix meeting
  • Anyone comparing g2m.exe with Zoom.exe

Current status

GoTo Meeting (2004) is a current meetings from GoTo. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.goto.com/meeting.

How old is it?

GoToMeeting launched in 2004 under Citrix Online. The company later became LogMeIn and then GoTo. It is older as a brand than Zoom (2013). Current branding is GoTo Meeting, not Citrix GoToMeeting on the box.

Versions

Current Windows build

System requirements

Values follow the publisher's public guidance. Workload still changes the real need.

Minimum

Minimum system requirements
Operating system A current supported Windows 10 or Windows 11 release, per the vendor
RAM Enough for Windows plus this app. Heavy projects want more.

Resource profile

CPU demand
Follows what you open inside the app
RAM demand
Follows documents, tabs, or libraries

Installed processes

These executables belong to this product when it is installed.

Installed processes
g2m.exe Main Windows executable

Startup components

GoTo can leave a helper in Startup so the next invite opens faster. Turn that off in GoTo if you join rarely.

File locations

Common GoTo Meeting locations
Typical install C:\Program Files (x86)\GoToMeeting\

File formats

meeting recordings the host saved

Common problems

Old Citrix-branded shortcuts

They may still launch current GoTo. A 2012 Citrix guide can name dead paths.

People install Zoom to join a GoTo link

Wrong client. Use the GoTo join URL or the GoTo app.

Getting unstuck

Start from goto.com/meeting or the invite URL

A GoTo crack or portable is junk. support.goto.com/meeting is the vendor help.

Join in a browser if the app is blocked

GoTo documents browser join. A random g2m helper from email is the wrong file.

Quit leftover g2m.exe after hang-up

A leftover share can keep the camera or screen awake.

Alternatives

Zoom or Teams if that is the invite. Webex if the workplace standardized there instead.
