Revo Uninstaller

ApplicationVS Revo Group

Also called revo, revo uninstaller pro

VS Revo GroupSystem

An uninstaller that hunts leftover files after the vendor MSI. The process is RevoUnin.exe. It is not Settings > Apps.

What you need to know

Revo hunts leftovers. Settings > Apps only runs the vendor uninstall.

VS Revo Group's Revo Uninstaller runs the normal uninstall, then looks for leftover files and keys. Get it from revouninstaller.com. It is not the Settings > Apps page and it is not CCleaner.

What is it?
An uninstaller that hunts leftovers
Same as Settings > Apps?
No. Settings stops after the vendor MSI
Paid?
A free build exists. Pro adds force tools
Feex says
If Settings > Apps already removed the program and a folder remains, I would try Revo's leftover scan before I delete Program Files by hand. I would not use it as a daily cleaner like CCleaner.

What is Revo Uninstaller?

Revo Uninstaller is a third-party uninstall helper. RevoUnin.exe is the window. Hunter mode and leftover scans are the product. Settings > Apps is still the in-box list.

If you have never used it

If an app left folders after Settings > Apps, Revo Uninstaller is the leftover hunter from VS Revo Group. Download it from revouninstaller.com. It runs the vendor uninstall, then scans for leftover files and registry keys. It is not the Settings > Apps list, not CCleaner, and not a Windows feature.

What is it used for?

Run the vendor uninstall, then scan leftovers

That second scan is why people install Revo. Settings > Apps stops after the vendor MSI.

Hunter mode

Point at a window or tray icon when the app is missing from the list. That is Revo, not CCleaner's uninstall tab.

Forced uninstall

Pro adds forced removal. That can break leftovers you still need. It is not a Repair button in Settings.

Who is it for?

  • People who uninstalled an app and still see its folders
  • Technicians cleaning a PC after many trials
  • Anyone who should not skip the vendor uninstall and jump to delete

Current status

Revo Uninstaller (2006) is a current uninstaller from VS Revo Group. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.revouninstaller.com/.

How old is it?

Revo Uninstaller started in 2006. It is older than the Windows 10 Settings > Apps page and younger than Add/Remove Programs. Current builds still target Windows 10 and Windows 11.

System requirements

Values follow the publisher's public guidance. Workload still changes the real need.

Minimum

Minimum system requirements
Operating system Windows 10 or Windows 11, per Revo's current Windows download
RAM Enough for Windows plus this app. Heavy projects want more.

Resource profile

CPU demand
Rises during a leftover scan
Disk demand
The scan reads the system drive

Installed processes

These executables belong to this product when it is installed.

Installed processes
RevoUnin.exe Uninstaller window

Startup components

Revo should not need to start with Windows. A Startup entry is unexpected.

File locations

Common Revo Uninstaller locations
Typical install C:\Program Files\VS Revo Group\Revo Uninstaller\

File formats

It removes installed apps. It is not an archive tool

Common problems

Forced uninstall deletes the wrong leftover

Read the scan list. A shared runtime is not always junk. Settings > Apps never shows that leftover grid.

People skip the vendor uninstall

Let Revo run the official uninstaller first. A leftover-only delete can leave services behind.

Getting unstuck

Install from revouninstaller.com

A "Revo Pro key" forum exe is not VS Revo Group. Settings > Apps is already on the PC if you only needed the in-box list.

Create a restore point before a forced uninstall

Revo can remove more than the vendor MSI. That is the point, and the risk.

If the app is still on the Settings list, try Settings > Apps first

Revo is for leftovers and stubborn rows. A Store app often needs the Store or Settings, not Hunter mode.

Alternatives

Settings > Apps for a normal uninstall. CCleaner's tools overlap less than the leftover scan. Geek Uninstaller is another leftover hunter.
