SeaMonkey
Also called seamonkey suite, mozilla suite
An application suite: browser plus MailNews from the old Mozilla suite. On Windows the process is seamonkey.exe.
What you need to know
SeaMonkey is a suite. It is not Firefox alone.
The SeaMonkey Council ships browser plus MailNews as seamonkey.exe. Firefox is only a browser. Thunderbird is only mail.

What is SeaMonkey?
SeaMonkey is the SeaMonkey Council suite: Navigator-style browser, MailNews, and Composer. The Windows executable is seamonkey.exe.
If you have never used it
If you want the old Mozilla suite idea, this is SeaMonkey: browser plus MailNews in one app. It is not Firefox alone. Download it from seamonkey-project.org/releases. The process is seamonkey.exe. Thunderbird plus Firefox is a different pair of products.
What is it used for?
The web window is one part of SeaMonkey. It is not a standalone Firefox profile.
Mail and newsgroups live in the same app. Thunderbird is a different exe.
A leftover HTML editor from the suite era. It is not Word and not VS Code.
Who is it for?
- People who still want a Mozilla-style suite
- Users migrating old SeaMonkey MailNews profiles
- Anyone who searched Firefox and landed on this suite
Current status
SeaMonkey (2005) is a current internet suite from SeaMonkey Council. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/.
How old is it?
SeaMonkey 1.0 shipped in 2005 as the community continuation of the Mozilla Application Suite. It is younger than Netscape Communicator and older than most Chromium browsers. Current SeaMonkey is still a suite, not a Firefox reskin.

Common problems
Modern web and mail defaults feel old
The suite moves slower than Firefox Rapid Release. That is expected, not a failed install.
People uninstall Firefox to remove mail
SeaMonkey mail is inside seamonkey.exe. Firefox does not host it.
Getting unstuck
Confirm seamonkey.exe, not firefox.exe
The suite lives under SeaMonkey. Mozilla Firefox is a different folder.
Use SeaMonkey project docs for MailNews
Thunderbird help will name the wrong profile path.
Install from seamonkey-project.org/releases
A SeaMonkey gold listing is junk.
Alternatives
Firefox plus Thunderbird if you want separate modern apps. Pale Moon if you want an independent browser without MailNews.

Related hardware
RAM follows open mail plus tabs. A current GPU driver still helps video in the browser window.
