What is Listary?

Listary is a desktop launcher with Explorer integration. Listary.exe stays in the tray. Hooks on Explorer are the point. That is not Everything.exe.

If you have never used it

If you want to type a folder name while an Open dialog is already up, Listary is Bopsoft's launcher. Install it from listary.com. It sits in the tray and attaches to Explorer. It is not Everything, not PowerToys Run, and not Windows Search.

What is it used for?

Jump inside Explorer

Type in a Listary bar over an Explorer window. This is a hook, not a separate Everything window.

Open/save dialog shortcuts

The same bar works in many file dialogs. Everything does not attach to those dialogs this way.

Listary (2011) is a current launcher and file search from Bopsoft. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.listary.com/.

How old is it?

Listary appeared in 2011. It is younger than Everything (2008) and older than PowerToys Run (2019). It is not a Windows 95 PowerToy.

A "Listary crack" exe is not Bopsoft. Everything is the other search tool if that is what you meant.

If Explorer crashes after a Listary update, disable the hook first

Listary options control the Explorer integration. That is not PowerToys FancyZones.

Rebuild Listary's index from its options if old folders keep winning

This is Listary's catalog, not the Windows Search index and not Everything's MFT read.

Everything for raw filename speed. PowerToys Run for an Alt+Space launcher without an Explorer hook.
